About me

About meHi! I would like to tell you more about me.  My name is James, and I am the creator of MechanicalPEacademy.com.  I am licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana.  I earned my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Louisville.  I have many years of undergraduate teaching experience teaching courses such as statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, machine analysis, machine design, vibrations, manufacturing methods, and more.  In addition to teaching my courses I taught review courses for the FE exam.  I also have many years’ experience working as an engineer in industry.  Much of my experience is in the areas of material handling and mining.

I enjoy writing… I am the author of Machine Analysis with Computer Applications for Mechanical Engineers, which is available on Amazon.  Work has also begun on a second book with Wiley covering the complete analysis and design of beams.  I have also authored many papers on research topics related to biomechanics, structural health monitoring, and engineering education.
