Machine Analysis and Design Books

Machine Analysis and Design Books are Critical for the Mechanical Systems and Materials Exam

If you plan on taking the Mechanical Systems and Materials exam you will need machine analysis and design books.  Some content from these books may appear on the AM session, so they can be beneficial regardless of which PM session you plan to take.

Machine Analysis

I think this book is great… but I am a little biased because I wrote the book.  The book covers kinematics and kinetics of linkage mechanisms, cam mechanisms, and gearing.  The book also has a section covering vibration theory.

In case you don’t want to buy my book (though I think you should), this is a great alternative.  The same topics are covered in both, so it is basically a matter of personal preference.

Machine Design

This book contains everything you should need for any machine design related questions.  It is very thorough and very well established.

This book is not necessarily required, but if you are taking the Mechanical Systems and Materials depth session it is a good reference.  It contains a lot of solved problems to use for practice and preparation!
